How to add a medication

Medications sit under your parent's day. Add one, turn on the reminder, and it shows up on her phone at the right time.

  1. On your home screen, tap Medications, then the plus.
  2. Name, dose, how often, and what time she takes it.
  3. Turn on Remind me on my phone. Her phone tells her when it is time, with a button that says I took it.
  4. Now it is on her checklist. On the paid plan, if the box is still empty an hour later, the family hears about it.

How to set up the emergency card

The card first responders need, on her phone and yours, in big type. Her medications come over from the list by themselves.

  1. Tap ER card on your home screen.
  2. Her legal name and her allergies. The medication list fills itself in.
  3. Her doctor, and who to call.
  4. Save. It is on her phone too, for whoever is helping her when you are not there.

Inviting family, and your settings

The family page shows who checks in and how to add a brother or sister. Settings hold the number that gets the text and the check-in time.

  1. Tap the people icon. Mom checks in; text a sibling an invite or share the family code. On the paid plan everyone who joins gets the texts.
  2. SeniorSafeApp is for adults, so it asks once.
  3. Tap the gear for your settings. The mobile number here is the one that gets the text.
  4. The check-in time is the deadline. If she has not tapped by then, you hear about it.

When something does not happen.

Her screen still says Waiting for Mom.

She has not opened the link yet. Tap the people icon, tap Copy link, and send it again by text. Or set it up on her phone yourself; the first video shows exactly what she sees.

I did not get the text.

Tap the gear, then check your mobile number under Your profile and make sure SMS notifications is on. On the free plan one person gets the text, the one who set up the account. If you ever replied STOP to a SeniorSafeApp text, reply START to turn texts back on.

Her phone does not remind her about a medication.

Open the medication and check that Remind me on my phone is on. Then on her iPhone: Settings, Notifications, SeniorSafeApp, Allow.

We picked the wrong check-in time.

Tap the gear, scroll to Daily check-in time, pick a new one, and save. The time is the deadline, not a reminder.

She says she tapped it and I got a missed text anyway.

The deadline is the check-in time in your settings. She has to tap before it, not after. If she taps late, the app still records the check-in; the text has already gone.
